Renowned
Development Program Manager Speaks About
The Direction of the Real Estate Development Field
Founder of S.L. Leonard & Associates Serves on USC Panel
February 4, 2005 - LOS ANGELES,
CALIF
Healthcare and education are the hot building markets, according
to Sean L. Leonard, founder of Camarillo-based S.L. Leonard
& Associates, a development project management firm. Leonard
made the statement at the Real Estate Development Panel and
Dinner in January, held by the USC Ross Minority Program in
Real Estate. Participants discussed ways to break into and
advance in the real estate development field, as well as trends
in the field.
“The healthcare and education sectors
are sequestering much of the local labor pool because of the
availability of public funds and the requirements for hospitals
to upgrade structurally,” Leonard said. “And economics
often dictates rebuilding rather than undergoing expensive
structural upgrades.”
Other panelists included Troy Jenkins, CBRE, and Jim
Osterling of Bridge Residential Advisors. The panel was part
of the welcome reception for the winter session of the Ross
Minority Program, which provides real estate and community
development professionals with advanced technical expertise
and access to resources for developing significant projects.
S.L.
Leonard & Associates is a comprehensive development
project management firm that fulfills the owner/developer’s

the construction of the City of Hope Replacement Medical
Center, the California Endowment Offices and Community Conference
