The California Endowment Administrative Offices and Community Conference and Resource Center

Office building and community conference center with state-of-the-art audio/visual and information technology capabilities, food service, child watch, wireless technology and extensive artwork.

Ventura County Community Foundation Nonprofit Center

Created to be a hub for local nonprofits and community leaders, the VCCF Nonprofit Center is located along the Highway 101 corridor in Camarillo. Housing 15 nonprofits, the building includes a center for nonprofit leadership complete with a library and three classrooms wired for computers, projectors and internet access. There is also a community room which can hold up to 175 people.

Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles

S.L. Leonard was engaged by Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles in 2013 to be its owners’ representative overseeing the entitlement, design and construction of its new 50,000 square foot office building in the Pico Union district of Los Angeles. Completion is scheduled for the beginning of 2017.

Legal Aid Foundation provides civil legal services to poor and low-income people in Los Angeles County.

Somis Union School District

S.L. Leonard was engaged by Somis Union School District December 2013 to be its Program Manager for the site acquisition, entitlement, design and construction of a new 500 student K-8 campus. The new campus will have a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math and Agriculture.

Casa Pacifica

S.L. Leonard was engaged in 2013 by Casa Pacifica Centers for Children & Families to be its owners’ representative overseeing the entitlement, design and construction of its nine-building master plan. Completion is scheduled for the Fall of 2016. The planned project would add living space and two new classrooms for 16 additional students.

Casa Pacifica provides hope and help for abused, neglected or at-risk children and their families.

Camarillo Public Library

New public library with state-of-the-art technology, meeting and conference space, and highly themed children’s areas.

Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science Life Sciences Research and Nursing Education Building

The largest single investment in south Los Angeles in 25 years, the $43 million facility will be located alongside the main administration building on the university’s 11-acre campus. The structure will house a newly furnished scientific research facility to provide state-of-the-art space for laboratories, clinical research and support functions for the College of Medicine, the College of Science and Health, and the new School of Nursing. Space also will be available for current and new research programs.

Museum of Ventura County Expansion

The $12 million expansion of the Museum of Ventura County is expected to double the number of visitors each year to more than 100,000. The new museum will include special exhibitions for local artists, tours, art classes, concerts and lectures. The project also will include a new education center and event pavilion, as well as the expanded Berry Research Library.

Walt Disney Concert Hall

Prior to founding S.L.Leonard & Associates, Sean was the Senior Vice President of Project Management for the owner of the world-acclaimed concert hall, and Ry Pressman was Senior Vice President of Construction. The Concert Hall includes a 2,265-seat auditorium, a 250-seat multi-use theater, 600-seat capacity pre-concert hall, artist suites and rehearsal rooms, a 6,000-pie organ, library, restaurants, gift shop, expansive art gallery, office space, conference rooms, two outdoor amphitheaters and public gardens. S.L.Leonard & Associates provided post construction consulting services after the successful opening of the Hall.

The Mob Museum

The City of Las Vegas has restored the historically significant United States Post Office and federal courthouse building downtown, transforming it into the Las Vegas Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, known as the Mob Museum. The Mob Museum will allow visitors to explore the history of organized crime in Las Vegas with interactive exhibits, films, artifacts and the re-creation of the original courtroom. The museum also includes a specialty retail store, special events areas, educational areas and office space. Workers referenced historic photographs and blueprints to maintain the 1950s look of the building while modernizing it, yet keeping many original elements intact.

The Master’s College, Mulitple projects

S.L. Leonard & Associates has assisted The Master’s College in multiple projects since 2009, including developing its $40 million master plan for the campus and its MacArthur Center, which serves as the hub of the campus; managing the design and construction of a state-of-the-art recording studio in the Music Center and leading the design team to create modern laboratory and classroom spaces in the 10,200 square foot Reese Center for Science and Mathematics building.

Sequoyah School, Multiple projects

Since 2010, S.L. Leonard & Associates has assisted Sequoyah School with a number of projects including perimeter and infrastructure enhancement of an aged and historical K-8 campus on Caltrans property designed to enhance the property as well as provide added safety while maintaining campus visibility to the community; and new construction on three high performance buildings: a multipurpose room, laboratory and classrooms added to increase capacity and capabilities.

Village Christian Schools, Sun Valley, California

As one of the school’s biggest projects in 25 years, this three-tiered project included converting an existing gymnasium into a multi-purpose performing arts venue and developing two new facilities: a Performing Arts Annex, including a black box theater, and an Athletic Training Facility.

Crossroads Community Church

The new Crossroads Community Church building in Camarillo features an auditorium, student center, café, library, pre-school and administrative space.

Charles Drew University Parking Structure

As part of the largest single investment in south Los Angeles in 25 years, the new $5 million Charles Drew University parking structure will offer three levels of above-ground parking and will be monitored by closed-circuit television cameras and a Blue Light Emergency Telephone system. The surface lot will include new landscaping and street lights.

Camarillo Ranch Barn

One of the oldest landmarks in the city, the Camarillo Ranch Barn is 104 years old and was refurbished for more than $850,000 to host events. Renovations include seismic upgrades, replacing the dirt floor with concrete, adding a new roof, storage, restrooms, food prep and servery, as well as audio-visual capabilities, fire sprinklers, fire alarms, interior and exterior lighting, air conditioning and code-compliant disabled access. The exterior appearance will remain the same.

City of Hope Helford Clinical Research Hospital

The state-of-the-art facility enhances collaboration between physicians, supportive caregivers and clinical researchers, giving cancer patients the highest level of attention and comfort. S.L. Leonard & Associates assisted City of Hope with managing the successful construction of this world class hospital.

Oaks Christian School Bedrosian Pavilion

The two-level multi-use facility supports the performing arts and sports. It has a large group meeting room for assemblies and dances, and classrooms for band, choir, dance and broadcast.

Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts Orlando, Florida

Sean Leonard led the joint venture team selected as Development Manager to evaluate and update the design, schedule and budgets of this $380 million complex with 2,700 and 300 seat theaters and a 1,700 seat multi-form hall. The project is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2014.

University of Judaism’s New Chapel and Library Expansion

The library will house the university’s rare book collection, including group study areas, public spaces, compact shelving, wireless Internet access and radio frequency identification for self-check out capability.

Charles Drew University Cafe

As part of the largest single investment in south Los Angeles in 25 years, the new Charles Drew University Café is the campus’ first permanent food facility and will be adjacent to the Health Services Library. The café will feature seating for 20, a serving area and a back-of-house food preparation area, all built using sustainable design strategies including eco-friendly materials, energy efficiency and improved indoor air quality. With healthy menu options, Wi-Fi and a computer bar, the design features an energetic and welcoming atmosphere.

California Space Center

Designed to inspire students to study science, technology, engineering and math, as well as to educate the public regarding space enterprise, the California Space Center will include a public launch viewing amphitheater, private VIP launch viewing opportunities, youth and adult education facilities and a space exploration museum. Located at Vandenberg Air Force Base in Santa Barbara County, the 71-acre site off Highway 1 will include rocket and missile launches and expects to draw hundreds of thousands of people each year as it is completed in phases over the next decade.
