Birch Hills Apartment Homes

Completed in Nov. 2013 in the Brea community, the Birch Hills Apartment Homes is a workforce housing development with eight three-story buildings and one recreation building, arranged around central courtyards and linked by tree-lined pedestrian friendly landscaped walks for families earning between 30% and 60% of the Orange County Area Median Income.

Park Landing Apartments

Completed in Oct. 2013, the Park Landing Apartments in the City of Buena Park feature a unique green rooftop which provides more than 20,000 square feet of outdoor recreational space, including a bocce ball court, barbecue/picnic areas and Jamboree’s first Imagination Playground.

Century Villages at Cabrillo

Since 2010, S.L. Leonard has worked with Century Villages at Cabrillo, assisting with and helping to implement its Master Plan for the 26-acre residential campus established on a former US Naval housing site. Multiple projects included developing 81 units of permanent housing for formerly homeless families and individuals, development of a new community service building, installation of solar panels on an existing building and mitigating land use issues.

Diamond Aisle Apartments

25 units of affordable housing in Anaheim for families with an adult who is disabled with mental illness, with a special emphasis on addressing homelessness. On-site services for the mentally ill family member will be available through H.O.M.E.S. Inc. Includes 1 and 2 bedroom units. Includes Community Center, Tutoring and Computer Rooms, Laundry Facilities and Tot Lot.

 

Encanto del Mar Apartments

Affordable housing units ranging from one bedroom to three bedroom units, arranged around a series of courtyards.

Soho Apartments

A 12-unit affordable housing project in Ventura completed in October 2011. Most are 2-story, 2-bedroom units ranging from 1,000 to 1,200 square feet, centered around a courtyard.

Hillcrest Villas

Affordable housing with one-, two- and three-bedroom units designed in an Italian Villa style in Thousand Oaks.

Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation

S.L. Leonard & Associates serves as project management consultants for this community building group, coaching and assisting staff with operations procedures and project-specific management issues, attending design and construction meetings, performing constructability reviews, arbitrating disputes, negotiating contracts and reviewing schedules, budgets and estimates.

Woodbury Apartments

90 units of affordable housing in Irvine. Includes 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units. Includes Community Center, Tutoring and Computer Rooms, Pool, Laundry Facilities, and Tot Lot. The Woodbury Apartments have 3-story garden-style walk-up units on grade, with on-grade garages and open parking.

Working Artists Ventura (the WAV)

A $57 million, state-of-the-art community designed for artists and creative businesses, WAV will offer affordable living and working space for more than 100 artists. The project will include an amphitheater and space for arts-friendly small businesses such as coffeehouses, galleries, cafes, wine bars and jazz clubs. The WAV project will include supportive housing and crucial services to those at the lowest end of the income scale. Market-rate condominiums with ocean views will help to subsidize the affordable housing. The entire community will be designed and built to the highest standards of green building technology as LEED™ certified.

Granite Court Apartments

71 units of affordable housing in Irvine for families earning 30% to 60% of the Area Median Income. Includes 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units. Includes Community Center, Tutoring and Computer Rooms, Exercise Room, Laundry Facilities, and Tot Lot. The Granite Court Apartments have 4 stories of units on podium structure (80,400 sf for units and community areas), 1 level of above grade parking, 1 level of below grade parking (62,100 sf for two levels of parking).

Grove Park Apartments

Completed in February 2011, Grove Park Apartments provide Section 8 housing to residents in Garden Grove’s Buena Clinton neighborhood.

Las Brisas II and Hart Village

S.L. Leonard & Associates worked with L.A. Community Design Center to complete Las Brisas II and Hart Village affordable housing projects in Signal Hill and Canoga Park.

Grand Avenue

This $3 billion mixed-use project designed by Frank Gehry includes a Four Seasons luxury hotel, apartments, condos, offices, retail and five levels of underground parking. Grand Avenue also will include a 16-acre park and two towers, one 52 stories high and the other 21 stories high. The entire public/private project will take up nearly three square blocks in downtown Los Angeles.

Crystal Cruises

S.L. Leonard & Associates provided training and consultation to this international luxury cruise line that refurbishes its ships every two and a half years. A team of contractors, designers and staff had only 12-14 days to provide $25-30 million worth of work during its most recent shipyard period, and needed to act efficiently and effectively.

Two- and three-bedroom affordable apartments in Santa Monica, landscaped central courtyard, community room and subterranean parking.

2602 Broadway, Santa Monica

Two- and three-bedroom affordable apartment units built on a podium deck in Santa Monica on a 1.5 acre site with a number of unique sustainable features for the Community Corporation of Santa Monica.
