Who Is Maria?

Maria Washburn began her construction and development management career in New York City fifteen years ago on the $200+ million Rehabilitation of the 63rd St Station on the Second Avenue Subway Line. After working in NYC until 2015, she moved to Los Angeles, where Skanska USA Civil employed her and then Hathaway Dinwiddie Construction Co. Her experience includes a $100+ million design/build of the Santa Monica Modernization project.

Maria manages multiple projects for nonprofits and developers where she utilizes her technical background and strong communication skills to benefit S.L. Leonard & Associates’ clients.

Personal Highlights

Maria is an immigrant from Venezuela and is fluent in Spanish.
Earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Florida State University
Holds a California Professional Civil Engineer License
Enjoys volunteering for various LA organizations including: Habitat for Humanity, LA River Clean up, American Cancer Society, LA Works, and Downtown LA Womens Center.

SLL worked with our construction and development departments to help us improve the working between the two groups. Through the recommendations for managing our growing departments we were able to advance our project oversight from planning to building, and develop stronger communication processes between functions.
